Sophie entered our lives in January of 2000. I had just said goodbye to Dale as he was heading out the door to a St. Paul Winter Carnival event and in less than a minute he was back at the door depositing a little black lab puppy into my arms. He had found her crouching behind the front passenger-side wheel of our car. The above picture was taken in December of 2010, nearly 11 years after Sophie appeared in our driveway in January of 2000 not too very far from where she is standing here. (Photo Dec. 2010)
