My friend Warren is dog sitting a cute little guy name Jasper. He's a Chinese crested which is a breed I have never heard of before. He's just a slip of a thing and I can't believe he weighs any more than 8 pounds.

Athena's Vet Visit
Dale and I took Athena to see Dr. Schuld today. Her check-up went well. Everything is normal except for some inflammation in her left ear. Her weight is at 70.1 pounds which is pretty good since her ideal weight is 70.0. She down a tad from her last visit. Photo of her resting on my knee was taken just a few days ago.

Attempted Picture
I was trying to get Athena to look at the camera for this picture but I think she was sensing that the mean dog that lives at this house was just about to run around the corner. I realized that was what was happening too late and Athena lunged forward when the dog appeared. I wasn't able to pull her back as I didn't have a good grip on her leash since I was holding my phone camera. The mean dog (I think her name is Civa) went ballistic. I usually see the dog waiting in the yard and move to the other side of the street. Most dogs aren't able to contain themselves as well as Civa does when they see another dog approaching their yard. She'll sit crouched down to the ground and wait to go nuts just as you pass her by. The first time this happened it had just turned dark. I saw her but she was so still and quiet that I thought she was a large rock. It scared the hell out of me when she went bonkers. This is the only other time I've been caught off guard.

Athena at the Airport Dog Park 1
Dale and I took Athena to the dog park over by the airport. She had a blast. The following is from Dale's blog:

Intrigue
Before taking out the trash, I anticipated Athena's curiosity and desire to dig in it and closed the kitchen door. Sure enough when she heard me taking the liner out of the trash can she came running. Here you see her cute little paws as she's perched outside.

Athena's Cold Day
I believe it only got to 13 below zero for a high. Athena wasn't lovin' the cold outside but she stayed nice and cozy inside. Thankfully school was called off today so I got to spend it with her.
